Well Christmas has been and gone, it's been a busy time for all of us. Presents were wrapped and unwrapped, shared and treasured. In our house I usually like to make a few things, especially using photos for the grandparents. Last year was calenders, so this year I decided on photo cubes. I saw them here and there (mostly Pinterest!!- addicted, need I say more!) and thought I would give them a shot. Some examples used modpodge to just glue the photos on and leave, others used modpodge and then water to remove paper and transfer the images. I thought first time out I would do the simpler of the two. Also I was a bit last minute this year so..... time was of the essence! We got two wooden cubes approximately 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 cut at Home Depot which cost us nothing! They were cut from a piece under 2ft which was considered "scrap". Then I sanded them lightly and painted them with leftover black chalkboard paint. I found the photos I wanted and edited them in picmonkey. Which by the way is one of my favourite places- all kinds of great tools and easy to use! I cropped them into a square image, changed to sepia and darkened the edges. I was going for a vintage look.. Then I printed them out changing the size setting on the printer. I chose 6 images for each cube and also one smaller one for an ornament gift tag. Once the images were printed and cut out, I used the glue to put them on each side and after they were dry I coated each one with three layers.
